LOW / HIGH GAIN Overdrive / BOOST

  • Marcus Miller optimized
  • The M2-OD Marcus Miller delivers a clear, highly articulate bass overdrive with fast response and wide dynamic range.
  • The core tone remains fully intact, while the low end becomes tighter, more focused, and more controlled. Designed to enhance groove, articulation, and expression without coloring or overpowering the original sound.

  • M2-OD Marcus Miller – The MOOSE CALL
The Moose Call describes Marcus Miller’s use of the PUSH mode in LOCKED operation. By selectively activating the High Gain Overdrive, he creates short, deep bass sequences with massive low-frequency impact. The result is a wide, deep, and controlled sound, a targeted low-end push with tangible depth, punch, and authority, perfectly suited for rhythmic accents and powerful bass statements.

FEATURES

  • The M2-OD Marcus Miller combines three fully independent sounds in one pedal: LOW GAIN Overdrive, HIGH GAIN Overdrive, and BOOST
  • The LOCKED switch links LOW GAIN and HIGH GAIN Overdrive in a locked mode, allowing seamless switching between both sounds with a single footpress.
  • The Push switch (Marcus calls it: The Moose call) sets the HIGH GAIN Overdrive to momentary operation. In this mode, the HIGH GAIN OD is active only while the footswitch is pressed. This also works in combination with the LOCKED mode.
  • Each channel delivers its own distinct tonal character, switchable presets, and precise control: Level, Tone, and Drive for LOW GAIN OD and HIGH GAIN OD, Level and Tone for the BOOST channel.
  • The pedal features a specially developed mechanical True Bypass switching system with optimized noise suppression, delivering nearly pop-free switching, ideal for professional stage use.
  • Handcrafted in Germany, the M2-OD Marcus Miller delivers maximum dynamics, tonal accuracy, and flexibility for musicians who demand uncompromising performance.
SOUNDS
  • Three Sounds. Full Control.
  • Boost with character
The integrated BOOST delivers up to +20 dB of output level and is far more than a simple volume boost. It can be used as a transparent level boost, an active tone shaper, or an additional push into the amp’s input stage. The active tone control ranges from neutral to sweet and funky, making it ideal for modern bass sounds with presence, punch, and clarity.
  • Flexible, Compact, Stage-Ready
Despite its versatility, the M2-OD Marcus Miller remains intentionally clear and easy to operate. A small number of musically tuned controls allow fast, intuitive adjustment without distraction. The robust aluminum enclosure, mechanical true bypass with minimal switching noise, and the lockable overdrive section make the M2-OD Marcus Miller a reliable tool for both stage and studio use.
  • 18V Power Supply
Active basses often deliver a very high output level. In these cases, the M2-OD Marcus Miller can be operated safely at 18V. The increased operating voltage provides additional headroom and prevents unwanted distortion, even with hot pickups and highly dynamic playing.

PUSH Mode - High Gain Overdrive
Marcus Miller 'THE MOOSE CALL'
  • The HIGH GAIN Overdrive can optionally be used in PUSH (momentary) mode when the PUSH toggle switch is set to ON.
  • In PUSH mode, the HIGH GAIN OD is active only while the footswitch is pressed.
  • Releasing the footswitch automatically returns the pedal to its previous state - OFF.

FAQ

Noise / Side Noise:
Level controls: Three completely independent pedals in one enclosure!
Each sound of the M2-OD Marcus Miller operates fully independently. To keep the interaction perfectly balanced, the level controls should be carefully adjusted. Running all three channels at maximum settings produces extremely high output levels and may cause the pedal to become difficult to control. With finely balanced level settings for each channel, the sound remains precise, dynamic, and fully controlled.

18V Power Supply
Active basses often deliver a very high output level. In these cases, the M2-OD Marcus Miller can be operated safely at 18V. The increased operating voltage provides additional headroom and prevents unwanted distortion, even with hot pickups and highly dynamic playing.

Power Supply Notice:
For noise-free operation, we recommend using a stabilized, well-shielded power supply. Some digital power supplies, especially those with insufficient shielding, may cause hum or high-pitched noise.

When using a multi-output power supply, the outputs should be galvanically isolated from each other.

Any noise issues do not originate from the pedal itself, but are usually caused by an unsuitable power supply or an unfavorable device combination. It is possible that a power supply works perfectly with one pedal but produces noise with another.

If noise occurs, we recommend the following test:
Connect the pedal directly to the amplifier, do not connect a guitar, and power the pedal using a separate power supply. When switching the pedal on, only operation or gain-related switching and control noises should be audible, no hum and no high-pitched noise. This test is an effective way to check the pedal independently of the rest of the signal chain.
